The data contained on this site was collected by a wireless Vantage Pro weather system from:
The New Found Farm weather station was installed on May 27, 2001. The Vantage Pro system consists of the console, remote sensor station, and Davis Instruments Weatherlink software running on a networked PC. The Vantage Pro console communicates with the sensor station, which is approximately 125 feet way, about every 2 seconds. The data is stored in an internal data logger on the console, which stores several days worth of data, highs/lows, and averages at 5 minute intervals. The weather PC retrieves data from the data logger and stores it in an archive file on its local hard drive. My home server then extracts data from the weather PC archive and stores it in an SQL database for retrieval by this web site.
All software was written by me and is available for free just for asking. The archive extraction scripts are written in C and Perl, and the web pages are written in PHP.
I hope you enjoy this web site and visit often to keep informed of the current weather and climatological information being monitored here in Washington, Maine. Feel free to email me with your comments or suggestions.
